Sciara Progetti Teatro Association

Sciara Progetti Teatro Association

Sciara Progetti Teatro Association is an artistic production company founded in 2009 by a group of young professionals who, after years of experience and training in Germany, England, Spain, Chile and Argentina, decided to settle in Emilia-Romagna Region in 2012. For four years Sciara Progetti has resided at the Verdi Theatre in the city of Fiorenzuola D’Arda (PC), a location obtained by winning a public tender issued by the Municipality. Since its establishment in the province of Piacenza, Sciara Progetti Teatro has established itself as the main Under35 theatre company operating in the area, and the Emilia Romagna Region has supported its activity since 2016 through public recognition as a show production organisation. Sciara Progetti Teatro has built part of its identity around an intense tour, along all national roads and beyond. The tour of Sciara Progetti productions is built through distribution throughout the national territory, also addressed to a network of “unconventional” contexts, where it is more immediate to attract the attention of that public that usually leaves the official theatre. Reaching the public that has less chance of meeting the Theatre and bringing it closer to the artistic moment is one of the primary objectives of the Company. However, Sciara Progetti’s planning also pursues paths beyond national borders thanks also to the foreign collaborations initiated with the Erasmus Plus program, an internationalisation project of a show has been undertaken, which is leading the Company to interface with the European theatrical panorama. In 2019, Sciara Progetti’s shows were distributed between Italy and Germany. Sciara Progetti aims at combining theatre, education and social inclusion.

In 2010-2011 they were involved in the European project “Learning without Borders – Podcasting across the Wider Europe”. The main aim of that project was to familiarize students from 5 countries (UK, Greece, Poland, Romania and Latvia) with the use of podcasts for educational purposes. Coordinator of the project was the Leeds City College from UK. Action Synergy also at the start of the season 2020-2021 initiated a podcast called «Window Seat» which aimed to share our experiences from the places we travelled the last 35 years in which we are involved in European projects. It also aimed to inform people on the projects we are working as well as to mix the episodes with the presentation of a soft skill. The podcast did so well that the biggest network of podcasts in Greece was interested to host it (pod.gr). «Window Seat» has nearly 4.000 followers in social media. Having a film director and a podcast expert on Action Synergy’s team (Dominikos Diamantis Balaskas) who is also a digital marketing professional has been the reason for the creation of multimedia content (audio and video) for tens of European projects in the past. Action is constantly filming (videos and photos) its business trips and recording interviews in order to connect with the target audience via social media and other sources. As a result of that, IDare is engaged in enriching alternative narrative since then (even we started in 2016), on our blog www.i-dare.org/blog and YouTube www.youtube.com/c/idareorg and www.youtube.com/c/salamoraiyou would see part of the alternative narrative IDare is creating with the youth (18 – 30 years old).Podcast is a format of media production that is booming since three years and ongoing. It is an area IDare is considering but, we do not have any experience in this yet. Therefore, we believe that our partnership in this project would support and complement our efforts in enriching alternative narratives to hate speech and violent extremism content.
